'We want heaven and like many other things, we want it now. Although we may have placed our hope in the Kingdom of God, we are all still tempted to secure our kingdom through our own means. Have we noticed how we want heaven and what measures we take to get it? We look for heaven in so many places: catalogues, vacation brochures and magazines, television and videos, personal financial advisors and investors, movies and novels, relationships we desire and pursue, the American dream, etc.
Perhaps we think our personal goals are an innocent approach and search for satisfaction. We drive our impulses for the eternal kingdom yet try to satisfy our hearts with the things that do not measure up, which is why we are always in search of and wanting more - no matter how much we have.
These are all poor and unrelatable replacements of the heaven God has created for His children. Resist the urge, God has called us into a relationship with Him; let that be our treasure, and look for heaven where heaven truly is.’

'So many of us have heard so much truth that unfortunately often results in so little change in our lives. We hear the sermon on Sunday, tune into radio stations and hear teachings, we read Christian books and although the message may be true and powerful, we often – in a matter of hours, days, weeks - forget what we have heard or read. Have you ever wondered why?
We do not take the time to meditate on what we hear and read. We are too busy with life. Sitting and thinking are essential; truth needs time to seep into the depths of our souls. Our minds are not changed until our hearts are transformed – true belief comes out of the core of our hearts.
Does the Word lack power in your life? If so, you may be lacking in your time in the Word. We must ask questions of God’s Word and allow Him to answer, only then does it become a powerful tool for change and our lives can be transformed.’

Job 1:22

'When adversity strikes, our true spiritual maturity comes to the surface. Many of us can play a game of godliness, appearing to be mature while undisciplined attitudes rage within. But when adversity hits, all is exposed. Our true feelings about God come out in the questions we ask and the actions we take.
Our trials can be, as they were in Job’s case, an opportunity to demonstrate the validity of our worship. They can develop our character and help us grow closer to God. When we assume that our trial is an unfair judgement or repayment from God, we expose our true feelings about ourselves. Adversity tells us what we really believe. Perhaps, that’s why God allows it to strike us from time to time. It displays the measure of our growth and the true nature of our relationship with God.’
Will you worship God in the midst of it?
Will you let Him use your trials to draw you closer to Him?

'People are prone to pecking order. We love the high horse. The boy over the girl or girl over the boy. The affluent over the destitute. The educated over the dropout. The old-timer over the newcomer. The Jew over the Gentile. But Jesus made His position clear as He healed the woman's daughter - He was more concerned with bringing everyone in than shutting certain individuals out.’
Regardless of race, gender, ethnicity; regardless of your financial situation or status; regardless of successes or failures; young or old; we all look to God for guidance, answers, healing, hope while seeking His strength. God’s is greater and stronger than anything the devil and his angels throw at us. Our God does not love us because of us (what we have done or that which we possess) but love us “in spite of”.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Deuteronomy 31:8"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you... 'Have you ever feared a situation or emotional challenge? Have you asked yourself if God was there when friends, family members or co-workers disappoint you? Have you ever cried in a fetal position on the floor after being deceived, lied on, abused, manipulated, sick, broke, abandoned, replaced, discarded, belittled, etc.? If so, I know you have also experienced the presence of God’s comfort and love and know He is real!!! Some of our lowest, most painful moments in life have also been our closest times with the Lord. He's powerful and just like myself and others, you will be okay. No matter who leaves after promising forever, He’ll never turn on you. He's all you need and you’ll never be alone, never!!'...do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
